Summary

Signature Graphics is a locally-owned, full-service heatset and coldset commercial printer with direct mail advertising and graphic design businesses located in NE Portland, Oregon with approximately 160 employees. Since opening in 1984, Signature has become one of the largest printers in the Pacific Northwest, and we are currently looking for a Warehouse Material Handler and Shipping Clerk to help with preparing materials to be shipped using a variety of methods including computers, software, forklifts and pallet jacks.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Warehouse Material Handler and Shipping Clerk performs warehouse work that involves preparing materials to be shipped using a variety of methods. This position pulls product and assembles them for shipment, packs product in boxes and occasionally uses banding and shrink-wrap machines. Most of the normal daily duties involve using a computer and scale to determine the weight and cost of each shipment. This position also drives forklifts to move material around.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Pulls product and assembles them for shipment, packing product in boxes and occasionally uses banding and shrink-wrap machines
• Uses computers, software, and other electronic devices
• Works closely with other Warehouse personnel and Warehouse Manager to ensure shipping deadlines are met
• Wrap and store weekly overages for two weeks, rotating each week with new weeks’ overages
• Drives forklifts as necessary
• Follows all safety guidelines, minimizes down time of forklifts and machines, and keeps all forklifts and machines in safe working conditions

Compensation: Non-exempt (hourly) competitive wage, depending upon experience

Basic Qualifications

• Experience using EFI Process Shipper a plus
• 2+ years experience driving forklifts in a warehouse environment
• 2+ years shipping experience in a warehouse environment
• Forklift Certification required (OSHA-Certified preferred)
• Any relevant post high school training is a plus
• Must follow safety guidelines, minimize the down time of forklifts and other machines, and keep all forklifts and machines in safe working order and conditions
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Basic proficiency in English

Other Duties

• Day shift, with some variation of hours and overtime needed to support production deadlines and unanticipated events.
