Summary:

Signature Graphics is a locally-owned, full-service heatset and coldset commercial printer with direct mail advertising and graphic design businesses located in NE Portland, Oregon and Spokane, WA with approximately 170 employees. Since opening in 1984, Signature Graphics has become one of the largest printers in the Pacific Northwest, and we are currently looking for an Accountant to handle all aspects of accounting, including processing jobs, invoices, credit cards, journal entries and Works in Process (WIP).

POSITION PURPOSE

The Accountant is responsible for handling all aspects of accounting. This position also performs a variety of other duties such as serving as back-up support for the front desk and other administrative duties as needed. This position maintains accurate records and control reports.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Processes cash receipts, journal entries, credit card transactions, invoices
Processes reports and files on a weekly basis
Processes temporary workforce, working with managers and temp agencies to ensure proper billing
Processes job costing/WIP and reconciliation for subsidiary company
Creates, completes and closes jobs
Covers Front desk in coordination with others one day each week plus other times as needed
Works with Warehouse Manager to negotiate/research rates, processes invoicing, Accounts Payable, WIP, continues good relationships with carriers for subsidiary

Compensation: Non-exempt (hourly) wage

Basic Qualifications

Accounting degree and/or 5 years related experience in a high-volume Accounting process using AP software systems
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel, and good computer skills is required
Ability to present information, ask questions and respond to questions from supervisors and coworkers throughout all levels of the organization
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to reconcile invoices, credit cards, freight transactions, reports, and other forms
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving managers and employees
Must be able to read and write English at a high school education level
Strong administrative, organizational and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail skills required
