Summary:

Signature Graphics is a locally-owned, full-service heatset and coldset commercial printer with direct mail advertising and graphic design businesses located in NE Portland, Oregon and Spokane, WA with approximately 170 employees. Since opening in 1984, Signature Graphics has become one of the largest printers in the Pacific Northwest, and we are currently looking for a Paper Handler to assist the Press Department in operating the Rewind Machine to rewind paper rolls to appropriate widths and move material within the warehouse or production facility using clamp and forklifts.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Paper Handler assists the Press Department by working in a largely self-directed environment with general direction from various sources to rewind paper rolls to appropriate widths and move material within the warehouse or production facility using clamp and forklifts. This position may also use bar code readers, computer terminals or other electronic devices to track paper inventory.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Transfers paper rolls from warehouse to press
Rewinds rolls as directed for future production needs
Operates bar code scanners, computer terminals or other electronic devices to track product
Safely operates paper clamp lifts and forklift trucks
Inspects and maintains lift trucks
Moves other materials within the production facility and warehouse areas as time allows
Organizes paper storage in a way that minimizes movement and facilitates quick access to required stock for Press use
Receives paper from external sources and record into inventory system
Works as a team member
Makes suggestions for improvements to company processes and procedures
Complies with all pertinent written and verbal department and company procedures

Compensation: Non-exempt (hourly) wage

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of at least one (1) or more years of related experience
Must follow safety guidelines at all times
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Must be able to be forklift certified
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
Must be able to read and write English at a high school education level
